Our Story

Growing up in a small town community in Western Kansas, our Owner and Founder, Kelli Huslig, has always had a deep desire to build relationships and serve others. In an effort to bring more of that spirit of community to Lawrence, KS, Uplift Coffee was born!

Located at 624 N 2nd Street in North Lawrence, Uplift Coffee sought to serve the community by opening in an area that was seen as a "coffee desert" of sorts. We prepared a menu with delicious food and drink, and equipped our space with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

Our doors opened and we we're lovingly embraced by the community - that is until the unfortunate day we had to close our doors due to the Corona Virus Pandemic. Uplift was met with a unique obstacle: how can we be active in our mission to uplift and elevate others if no one can come into our shop?

Despite the obstacles, Uplift pushed through. We started going mobile in our original Uplift Jeep, serving up coffee in neighborhood driveways, local gathering places, businesses, and more. Shortly after, our Uplift Coffee Truck joined the team to help better serve our community wherever they needed us to go.

Since then we've added a second location in 2022 in West Lawrence at 4000 W 6th Street, equipped with indoor seating and a drive thru. With this addition came a fully staffed in-house bakery, allowing us to expand our pastry, food, and catering options.

In 2023, we welcomed into our Uplift family 133 Coffee in Baldwin City, further expanding our reach beyond the Lawrence community. 133 Coffee is located at 112 6th Street in Baldwin City, Kansas.

Our story has been a unique one, but what's made it truly special is the customers we've met along the way. Day in and day out across our three locations and coffee truck, we are blessed with the opportunity to serve our community and make a difference.

Our hope is that in some way we "Uplift' and elevate everyone we come into contact with - and we hope to continue our mission for many years to come.
